Dr. Rajan Mahtani Looks To Continue His Fight For The Zambezi Portland

Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a noted figure in Zambia. He is responsible for various businesses in Zambia as well as across foreign nations too. Some of his top companies are Finsbury Investment and Mahtani Group of Industries. He is also the ex-chairman of Finance Bank Zambia and legal owner of the Zambezi Portland Cement, for which he is fighting for the past 10 years. The fight starts when the Ventriglias tool over the factory illegally. Since then, a case was launched at the Lusaka High Court. At the same time, the Ventriglias claimed that the shared owned by Dr. Mahtani were not paid for. This and the continued transfer of judges or unavailability of the defendants (the Ventriglias) during court proceedings have resulted in one of the longest pending high-profile court cases in Zambia.

Going by the internal reports, it can be said that the actual facts are very much different from what is being portrayed by the media, especially those conspiring against Dr. Mahtani and his companies. As per the official statement presented by the court, Dr. Mahtani and his team have submitted various evidence to support their claim. One of them is signed shareholder’s agreement that clearly indicates Dr. Mahtani’s 58 percent shares in the factory. This statement has been accepted by the court. Major evidence was the audit report by independent auditor clearly stating the project as a joint venture and Dr. Mahtani as the sole joint venture partner.

The high court has announced closing this case soon. Documents and evidence from both sides will be evaluated and final judgement will be given soon.  

Lusaka Hc Judgment Cheers Up Dr. Mahtani And Team

Where there is honesty, there will be corruption. Irrespective of state or country, this phenomenon can be seen across all spheres of the society. Dr. Mahtani has been facing a similar situation from the time he established his businesses in the Zambian nation. At present, he is fighting for the ownership of Zambezi Portland Cement which has been illegally captured by the Ventriglias.

The case has been going on for almost 10 years and during this time, Dr. Mahtani has submitted numerous statements, exhibits that clearly indicate his legal ownership over the factory. At the same time, the Ventriglias have always avoided court time whenever they were required to submit documents or evidence. It has been observed that by either bribing court officials or by using force, the Ventriglias have been twisting the judgment even since it was launched by Dr. Mahtani. Not only that, the Ventriglias has also tried to discredit Dr. Mahtani several times just to make their stance stronger. However, every time they tried to discredit him, the plot backfired and they have been severely warned by the judges.

The judge handling this case has announced that both parties will be submitting their evidence by December 2017 post evaluation of which, final judgment will be announced soon. This is indeed good news for Dr. Mahtani’s team and a worrisome environment can be easily seen on the Ventriglias side. It is high time for the court to make the right judgment and give back the factory to its real owner, Dr. Mahtani.  

Lusaka Hc Gives Good News To All Dr. Mahtani Supporters

Since the latest announcement made by the Lusaka High Court regarding Zambezi Portland Cement, most of the supporters of Dr. Rajan Mahtani have rejoiced. It is expected that this announcement is a positive move to an end to this long running case, which is being dragged on for almost nine years. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a noted industrialist and owner of various establishments such as Mahtani Group of Industries and Finsbury Investments Limited. He also successfully managed Finance Bank Zambia before it was handed over to another organisation. It is also known that during his leadership at the Zambezi Portland Cement, the factory flourished with surplus production, good work environment and above industry wages for its workers. However, the condition of the factory is in ruins since it was illegally captured by the Ventriglias. 

As per the case contents, it is known that Dr. Mahtani has shared various documents, exhibits and shareholder agreements that appropriately prove his rightful ownership at the factory. Some of these critical documents are shareholder agreement signed by all concerned parties, audit report prepared by an independent auditor, financial exhibits and expenses stating his investment of USD 8 million dollars plus total investment in share capital and independent auditor’s report stating that his is the sole joint venture partner in the factory establishment. 

At the same time, the Ventriglias has failed to submit any document or evidence that claim their rightful ownership at the factory. At the same time, they have been accused of making false allegations on Dr. Mahtani with the objective of discrediting him. These situations clearly indicate lack of confidence from the Ventriglias end. The judge will be announcing final decision soon.

Finance Bank Zambia And Dr. Rajan Mahtani Win Over Conspiracy

Few months back, Finance Bank Zambia was on the verge of closure. The bank suffered heavy losses due to a negative reputation that left the bank with no customers, clients or businesses. Banks belong to a very sophisticated industry wherein any bad publicity or news can hugely impact the reputation and thereby the businesses. The same occurred with Finance Bank, an establishment of Dr. Rajan Mahtani. The accusations were made by Simaata Simaata, who was once an employer of the bank itself. After Simaata was ousted from the bank due to his engagement with unlawful practices and after he signed an agreement with the bank, he started spreading these negative rumors, essentially breaching the agreement.

A case was launched at the Supreme Court Zambia by Finance Bank taking support from Dr. Rajan Mahtani. The case went for many months, during which Finance Bank also suffered reputational loss and financial damage due to other coordinated attacks. The final judgment was delivered by the Supreme Court judges on June 2017. The statement of the judges is as follows, “Even in the absence of a contractual commitment, honesty and integrity demand that people follow through on what they say they are going to do. Their credibility is after all built on their words and actions. Betrayal of compromises and settlements is a tragedy that only evidence diminished integrity. All circumstances considered, we are satisfied that the respondent (Simataa) did in fact breach clause 5 of the Settlement Agreement.”

Every time there has been an attack on his character, he has certainly made himself available in front of the media, public and officials so that the truth can be determined in the open. As a person of high principles, he has never failed to address his own viewpoints and seek guidance from others, after all he believes that learning is a constant process.

But then, we have Zambia Reports whose non-sense is more evident that its logic. All that they do is write up stories with a view to defame Rajan Mahtani and then brag about the same through their online channel. When people go through it and condemn the same they are never bold enough to answer it back. To be specific, the name of the authors that Zambia Reports uses is nothing but fake.

Therefore, now it is left with the public to decide that who the real ‘controversial figure’ is. On one hand, we have a person who is not afraid to face any given situation and on the other we have a group whose identity is still not defined.

Conspirators turn friends for one reason: Defame Dr. Rajan Mahtani

It is a known fact that enemy of an enemy is a friend and should be kept closed. This is what the conspirators of Dr. Rajan Mahtani have been doing lately. Dr. Mahtani is being defamed by other conspirators as well, ironically for similar goals and objectives. First, it was the notorious Zambia Reports that have been shamelessly trying to portray Dr. Mahtani in a negative manner without facts and proofs. Second, individuals like Simataa are constantly trying to keep his end of the bargain by defaming the Former Chairman of Finance Bank.

When the LHC (Lusaka High Court) recently passed judgement in Simataa Simataa’s favour, conspirators were more than just happy. Moreover, the defamation campaign against Dr. Rajan Mahtani and Finance Bank of Zambia received a kick start after it was subdued by the negative feedback from Zambia’s civilians. As of now, the two most notorious entities in Zambia, Simaata and Zambia Reports have come together with one goal, defaming Dr. Rajan Mahtani. This venture between the two conspirators came out in the open when in a new article published by Zambia Reports on their website claiming Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been trying to force money from one ‘Financial Expert’.

Least was written about what exactly happened in that case and most of this article was about Dr. Rajan Mahtani and his tricks used on people bind them with legal contracts and then extracting money from them for even sligh violation. Clearly, the only intent of this article and the author behind this was defaming Dr. Rajan Mahtani. The article hardly had any matter relating to that case Simaata had won. Clearly, the Author did not wanted people to dig a little deeper into the Simaata case as it would have backfired and exposed Simaata instead! Or maybe because of the fact that many people still think the end decision was of the court was doubtful as it was made across questionable grounds. One thing is clear; all these activities are only harming the innocent citizens of Zambia.  

Portland Cement Zambia ruined and unattended

In the past few years, Zambia has been hearing stories that are basically beyond an individual’s imagination. In the last one & half years, Portland Cement Zambia is facing miseries that are too huge to ignore. However, even an issue this big is not bothering the Zambia government and its officials. On one hand, workers of Portland Cement Zambia are being mercilessly thrown out of the factory without pay or severance. At the same time the government has decided to turn a blind eye towards their misery. It is easy to see why conspirators such as Zambia Reports are continuously defaming people such as Dr. Rajan Mahtani and doing so without any fear of legal consequences. Conspirators are making comments about Dr. Rajan Mahtani and blaming him of bribing and spreading corruption. However, all these stories have one thing in common. These all are fake and no relation with reality on a long shot.

For almost one and half years, Portland Cement Zambia has been continuously exposed to oppression, disdain and mismanagement. However, no one is pointing out or even talking about this. This is because the only duty of Zambia Report is to carry on with its defamation campaign against Dr. Rajan Mahtani and keep the media away from real tragic stories like those of FBZ. This will help to cover up their masters’ illegal activities. The factory which was once running at a faster rate compared to others across the nation has been left completely abandoned with zero production and no resources. Since December 2015, the assets of the company are either being transported to other entities for profit by the Ventriglia Family, or being left to rust.

This carnage is a clear witness to the fact that the Ventriglia family is very good in playing politics and hiding their corrupt faces. Given the critical condition of the Portland Cement Zambia, it is highly unlikely that the factory will survive any further. A tough question here, is any one going to do something about this?

The Chairman of Finance Bank Zambia, Rajan Mahtani, has laid the foundation pillar for his bank to go international by opening its new branch in Lilongwe, Malawi. The much expected news came shortly after Mahtani confirmed that his bank has now been converted into a public limited company and is being listed on the Lusaka Stock Exchange.

The operations in Malawi are expected to commence from December 15, 2014 and the first unit of FBZ will be opened in the capital city of the country, Lilongwe. This has been one of the biggest success stories for the Finance Bank in 2014. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, who is also the owner of Zambezi Portland Cement Factory, has made efforts worth appreciating towards globalizing the operations of FBZ and offer people with an organization that funds developmental programs and brings upon radical changes for improvement in living conditions of the locals.

According to confirmed reports, it is also being said that Rajan Mahtani is planning to list his bank on Alternative Investment Market of London Stock Exchange which would offer his bank with the benefit of dual listing. Just like every other person in Zambia, the Finance Minister also believed the false reports and tapes and soured his relationship with Mahtani thinking that he was looking forward to overthrow the present government. Nevertheless, there was one good news that continued to support Rajan Mahtani. His bank had shown a healthy development with a profit of US $42 million. Additionally, the Finance Bank of Zambia Ltd., was also successful in in showcasing a 20% increase in the number of bank branches and a 90% increase in the number of ATMs in all over Zambia.

It is a true fact that bad will never be able to suppress good. Rajan Mahtani has become the primary target of the opposition and still he continues to operate with all his zeal towards developing Zambia. Over the years he has not only been a successful businessman, but also has been a true philanthropist.
