Dr. Mahtani gets a clean sheet

Over the past couple of months it has been observed Dr. Rajan Mahtani is in the headlines for the wrong reasons. Sometimes allegations involved using Emails to reach other VIPs in Zambia, whereas sometimes it was published that Rajan Mahtani is operating his bank illegally. However, with stringent investigation in process, the untold chapters behind the news are now being unfolded. The Chairman of the Finance Bank of Zambia Ltd., is innocent and has been given a clean sheet.

The series of allegations about Dr. Mahtani is nothing but a shameful attempt by the opposition to defame the accused. The news, which claims that Dr. Mahtani’s phone conversation was ‘recorded’ as an evidence to prove that he is a corrupt person is based on fabricated materials which supported the fake email campaign running on his name. The whole establishment was arranged in a manner where people were made to believe that there was a connection between the powerful personalities in Zambia and it was heading towards development of a ‘cartel’ that intended to run a parallel government.

The result of this mischievous act also broadened the gap between the Finance Minister and Dr. Mahtani. Just like every other person in Zambia, the Finance Minister also believed the false reports and tapes and soured his relationship with Mahtani thinking that he was looking forward to overthrow the present government. Nevertheless, there was one good news that continued to support Rajan Mahtani. His bank had shown a healthy development with a profit of US $42 million. Additionally, the Finance Bank of Zambia Ltd., was also successful in in showcasing a 20% increase in the number of bank branches and a 90% increase in the number of ATMs in all over Zambia.

It is a true fact that bad will never be able to suppress good. Rajan Mahtani has become the primary target of the opposition and still he continues to operate with all his zeal towards developing Zambia. Over the years he has not only been a successful businessman, but also has been a true philanthropist.
