Lusaka High Court Shares New News for Portland Cement Zambia Case

The judge handling the Portland Cement Zambia case recently made an important announcement. As per the judge, the final hearing is closed and both parties have been asked to submit their testimonials and evidences in written and oral formats. The judge will be evaluating these documents and post evaluation, final judgement will be made. This step has been considered as a milestone for a corporate case which has been going on for the past 10 years without any results. 

Portland Cement Zambia is a cement manufacturing plant. It is legally owned by Dr. Rajan Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist in Zambia. Dr. Mahtani has made a name for himself with his honest and transparent business activities, and is also famous for his charitable activities. During his leadership, Portland Cement was among the top manufacturers of cement in Zambia. The factory was also among the top industrial employers, with above-industry salary and wages for its workers and employees. However, things have changed since the factory’s illegal takeover by the Ventriglias. The factory was forcefully taken over by goons and the Ventriglias have defended themselves by saying that the shares of the factory owned by Dr. Mahtani are not paid for. However, they have not been able to share any strong evidence that supports their claim. 

Dr. Rajan Mahtani, on the other hand, has shared numerous evidences such as signed shareholder’s agreement, independent audit report and financial exhibits that sufficiently prove his rightful ownership over the factory. Though it has taken almost 10 years for the court to find a resolution, it is expected that this time, Dr. Mahtani will finally get true justice.

Lusaka High Court Makes New Announcement, Dr. Rajan Mahtani Finally Expecting Win

The latest announcement made by the Lusaka High Court has given some hope to Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani and his team, and he is finally expecting a sweeping win over the Ventriglias in the Portland Cement Zambia case. The case is among the most famous as well as longest running high-profile corporate cases in Zambia. The Portland Cement Zambia factory, which legally belongs to Dr. Rajan Mahtani, was illegally taken over by the Ventriglias. When Dr. Mahtani approached Lusaka High Court demanding justice, the Ventriglias defended themselves by claiming that the shares of the cement factory owned by Dr. Mahtani were not paid for. 

It has been 10 years now and no judgement has been given by the court, despite the fact that Dr. Rajan Mahtani and his teams have been regularly submitting evidences and documents to prove his rightful claim over the factory. Some of these documents include signed shareholder’s agreement, financial exhibits, shares report and independent audit report which clearly states that the factory was developed as Joint Venture in which Dr. Mahtani was the sole joint venture partner and the rest were only minor shareholders. This effectively makes Dr. Rajan Mahtani as the owner of the factory. Meanwhile, the Ventriglias were not able to submit any relevant documents or make their arguments stay. They have also tried to discredit Dr. Mahtani many times but have failed. 

The judge who is currently residing the case made a huge announcement recently. As per the judge, the final hearing is closed now. Both parties have been called to submit their evidences and after validating these evidences, final judgment will be announced soon.

Conspirators Of Dr. Rajan Mahtani Stepping Back With Lusaka Hc’s Announcement

Since the latest announcement made by Lusaka High Court regarding Zambezi Portland Cement, the conspirators of Dr. Mahtani and his companies have stepped back. The main reason attributed can be the announcement by the judge handling this case and the possible consequences of the case. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a noted figure in Zambia. While the Ventriglias have counter claimed that the shares of Dr. Mahtani are not paid, but they have not been able to submit any evidence to support their claim. The judge will announce final judgement soon, once the evidence from both parties is thoroughly checked. 

New Progress Has Been Announced Between The Ventriglias And Dr. Mahtani’s Case

The employees and workers were paid well for their hard work and the Zambezi Portland was among top employers of that region. All these changed after the factory was taken over by the Ventriglias. The factory assets are corroding and more than half of the workers have been either laid off or have stopped working due to non-payment of wages. Also, the cash box of the factory has been emptied by goons who allegedly work for the Ventriglias.
