Dr. Rajan Mahtani Not Dejected By Unjustified Action From Lusaka HC, Takes Action

Portland Cement Zambia is a cement-manufacturing factory is Zambia that has been going through difficult times in the past few years. As per the reports, it was established and run under the leadership of Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman, charity and social workers and a philanthropist. Experts say that the factory was flourishing during the initial years with higher than average production, profits as well as better than industry- average salary and wages for its employees, workers and staff. It quickly became one of the best-known manufacturing plants in the province; until it was taken over illegally. That is when Dr. Rajan Mahtani registered the case at the Lusaka High Court, instead of using the similar tactic of goons to take back the factory.

Unfortunately, it has been ten years and no decision has yet been established on the case. Numerous ups and downs were observed during the trial and numerous evidences and documents were submitted, majorly by Dr. Rajan Mahtani and his lawyers. These include signed shareholder’s agreement, independent audit report and numerous financial and investment reports. A worthwhile progress was made few months back after the judge overseeing the case announced closure of case hearing. However, this was all but a mirage as the final verdict came and shocked everyone. The final announcement was made against the claims made by Dr. Mahtani and it seems that all the evidences were ignored. However, instead of feeling dejected, Dr. Mahtani has taken the appropriate steps and approached to the higher court of appeal to file a report against this Lusaka High Court judgment
