After Lusaka High Court Verdict, Dr. Rajan Mahtani Hopes For Justice From Higher Court.

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is a noted businessman in Zambia. He has more than three decades of experience during this time he has been able to successfully establish numerous big and small companies within the nation. Some of the top companies started, nurtured and established by him include Mahtani Group of Companies, Finsbury Investment and Finance Bank Zambia. He is always regarded for his charitable contributions and philanthropic activities. In fact, he is among the few businessmen in Zambia who actively engages in philanthropic activities which the involvement of public relations or self-image strategies. It is therefore, hard to imagine that such an honest businessman will try to illegally acquire sometime or a company.

However, Dr. Mahtani is fighting at the Lusaka High Court for a similar reason. The case is for Portland Cement Zambia, a noted cement-manufacturing company in Zambia for legal rights and ownership are in question. As a result of the limitations of the Zambian government, the case has been stretched to almost a decade. Without losing his patience, Dr.Rajan Mahtani has kept sharing critical evidences and documents to prove his ownership and legal authority over the factory. Apart from the shareholder’s agreement and financial exhibits, Dr. Mahtani also shared a report from an independent reported which proves his legal ownership over the factory.

Despite these strong evidences, the final verdict announced by the Lusaka High Court judge was nothing sort of astonishing. After the judge announced the final verdict against Dr. Mahtani’s claims, he immediately understood that it was a foul judgment and made an appeal to the higher court of Zambia.
