But according to a letter of demand, which is seen by the
Watchdog, Simataa paid no heed to the contract and voluntarily offered himself
as a witness in the Lusaka High Court against Finance Bank Zambia. This act
from Simataa’s end compelled Rajan Mahtani to take legal step against him.
When Simataa left the job seven years back in 2007, the Chairman Finance Bank Zambia Rajan
Mahtani asked him to sign a paper where it was written that he would desist
from issuing statements injurious to the bank, its owners and its employees. Simataa
signed the agreement, but in exchange of that, he took K1 billion. All this
meant that Rjana Mhatni in order to keep in quiet gave him the money. But now
it is found that Simataa has been ignoring the contract and issuing media
statements adverse to the interests of the bank. This raged Dr. Mahtani and so
he decided to demand the money plus the interest from him.
Rajan Mahtani has sued him and has given Simataa seven-day
time to repay K1 billion plus the interest. If he fails to do so, the chairman
of the Finance Bank has no option but to file a suit against him. However, the
best part of the story is yet to come. Even after doing such ills, Simataa has
dared Dr. Mahtani to take legal action against him. He said that he is not
going to be scared by Dr. Mahtani’s threats, he was not on his payroll and he
has not even signed any agreement to not speak against the bank or its
employees or owners.
Rajan Mahtani is a
brave man. He accepted Simataa’s challenge to meet in court and said that since
the matter is subjudice, he would not put any comments regarding this matter.
Simataa,
however, has also been banned for lifetime for all kinds of football activities
by the FAZ. The ban came in the wake of breach of football rules by him.
