A false news was published a few days ago about Rajan
Mahtani, the chairman Finance Bank
Zambia. You might have all read the news on Zambia Reports about Rajan Mahtani removing the BoZ Vice Chairman. The news was published on February 15,
2014 under the headline: BoZ Vice Chairman Allegedly Removed at Mahtani’s
Request. The news is false. Mahtani didn’t remove the Vice Chairman of BoZ.
Micheal Sata is the honorable president of Zambia and Rajan
Mahtani is a respected businessman in Zambia. Why would Sata remove the senior
official at BoZ under the request of Mahtani? He might have been the largest
donor during Sata’s presidential campaign, but that doesn’t mean that the
President would help him to remove a senior man from the administration of the
nation’s central bank. After all, a man like Rajan Mahtani can never be
involved in this kind of activity. He is a man who has high values and
principles. He does no harm to people and works for the development of the
country and its people.
Dr. Kasuka Mutukwa was under no circumstances removed at
Mahtani’s request to Sata. Why would the chairman Finance Bank Zambia ask Dr.
Mutukwa to shut down the Access Bank when he knows that his opponents who has
accounts in the Access Bank cannot access their accounts by the rule of the
magistrate’s court in Ndola? The Ventriglias cannot access their joint bank
account and properties in Ndola until the investigations are complete.
Antonio Ventriglia and his beloved wife (the Ventriglias),
Mahtani’s ex-partners in ZambeziPortland Cement Pvt Ltd, are suspected of stealing millions of dollars from
the company’s account for their own benefit. The investigations are not
complete yet and until the investigations are complete, the Ventriglias won’t
be allowed to access their properties and joint bank account at Access Bank. It
is suspected that the Ventriglias bought houses in Ndola using that stolen
money. The amount which is unused is kept in their joint account at Access
Bank.
The
entire scenario about Rajan Mahtani, BoZ, Zambezi Portland Cement, and
Ventriglias becomes clear from the article. There is no question of why Mahtani
would remove Dr. Mutukwa from this post at the nation’s central bank.
