Supreme Court Judge Mumba Malila Gives Testimony Which Clears Dr. Mahtani’s In The 2012 Case

Once again the government, law and justice system across Zambia failed to provide proper justice for the honest and ethical individuals and entities. The nation is facing turbulent times as corruption and unethical activities begin to grow and penetrate into the highest levels of governance. As such, the hope for people who always stick to honesty and transparency are finding it difficult to manage their work. The prime example is Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist who continuously faces controversies and conspiracies despite building successful companies, factories and engaging in philanthropic and charitable activities. These conspiracies are nothing but a way of extortion from the rich and powerful that is corrupt to the core and want others to join them.

The testimony from the Supreme Court Judge Mumba Malila is an example of how top government officials and those working at the highest level of governance are powerless and corrupt. In this testimony, Justice Mumba Malila recounted the 2012 case involving Dr. Rajan Mahtani. In this case, the Tribunal gave the judgement against Dr. Mahtani. However, the testimony highlighted the fact that the case was politically motivated and was against the interests of the public policies. It was also revealed that the case was influenced by some powerful and corrupt politicians and businessman who profited from the decision of the Tribunal. Even though appeals and requests were made to make the case null and void, no such actions were taken.

This testimony from Justice Malila clears one fact. Corruption and unethical activities are still widespread and openly practiced across Zambian nation. Unless the government wakes and takes actions against these repeated culprits, there is little hope for honest businessmen like Dr. Mahtani.
