Why Would Rajan Mahtani Lie About Masaiti Homes?

Recently, there was a false publication in Zambia Reports entitled “Mahtani Lying about Masaiti Homes, Says Ventriglia.” Rajan Mahtani is a gentleman. He is a man of high morality. He always works for the betterment of the Zambians and the nation and never makes false promises to people. So, it is not a lie that he has plans to build houses for some people in Ndola area. He is spreading no false news in the media regarding building 127 homes for the displaced families by ZPC (Zambezi Portland Cement).

Rajan Mahtani is offering an act of charity to the people of Masaiti District. ZPC under his chairmanship has invested K6.5 million for constructing 127 houses in Ndola area. He said in a ground breaking ceremony that Zambezi Portland Cement commends project activities in cement plant in Masaiti District after the approval of the project by ZEMA in 2006 subsequent to an environmental impact assessment undertaken as required by law.

Dr. Mahtani also said that one of the ZEMA’s approval conditions for the cement plant was that ZPC would resettle all people who would be adversely affected because of the activities associated with cement production. So, he feels it to be his duty to build homes for the displaced families in the Senior Chief Chiwala’s area in Ndola.

While giving the speech, Rajan Mahtani commented on various tabloids, which have undertaken a personal vendetta on behalf of the minority shareholders and are carrying out a malicious character assassination against him. He said that he has undertaken legal proceedings against all people who are involved in the malicious campaign and that appropriate advertisements will soon appear in the local and international press.
